Shaklee is growing faster then ever before these days!
I
have been a thankful Shaklee Sales Leader for 4 years now...and I often recall
life before Shaklee.....
After graduating from high school at 17 years old, I, in my infinite wisdom,
THOUGHT that to get ahead, all you need to do is get out there and work for a
BIG COMPANY with lots of "job security" and give it all you've got, go
beyond the call of duty, work hard, show your employer how dedicated you are.
I found my place in the workforce immediately after graduation as an
executive secretary to the vice president of a manufacturing firm. After 5
years, do you know I NEVER got promoted to anything? My job title never
changed? Reality slapped me in the face.
I then changed gears and became a legal secretary to one of the largest law
firms in Baltimore. I spent 13 years devoted to my employers and my
idealistic view that some day all of my hard work would get noticed. I
worked for a very demanding lawyer 50-60 hours a week, arrived 2 hours before
starting time, worked through lunch breaks, stayed late...worked overtime
any time I was asked to, came to work in snow storms and even blizzards when
businesses were closed, rarely took off even when I was sick...NEVER attended a
Christmas party because I was at my desk finishing up the heavy workload piled
on by my employer (because he KNEW I'd get it done).....Do you know I NEVER
received a bonus car or free trip to anywhere!?
In 4 years as a Shaklee Sales Leader, I have enjoyed the flexibility of working
my own hours, part-time, in the comforts of my own home, often in my bare feet;
and for all of this hard work, Shaklee has recognized my efforts in the form of:
Cash: income in 1999,
$28,243.63
Cars: 2 bonus cars (both
7-passenger vans), and
Conventions: 4 expenses-paid trips
for two, including Switzerland. These are the tangible benefits.
I couldn't begin to put a price on the intangible benefits, because they
have to do with QUALITY OF LIFE: Shaklee has enabled me to: "be
there" for my 4 children, continue working at home after becoming a single
parent, take in my 77-year old father whose alternative after suffering a stroke
was a nursing home or assisted living. Experience personal growth, go through
ups and downs that taught me how persistence pays, enjoy tremendous tax
benefits, benefit from better health have a positive impact on others and so
much more ...

Our
New Shaklee Car
I was just looking out the window at our New Bonus Car from Shaklee!! WOW
is it ever pretty!! (Sorry I don't have a scanner so I can send a picture.)
Hunter Green Metallic, two toned with Gold accent strips, it is a GMC Safari 8-passenger
van, leather seated and loaded! It has been about 2 months since we picked
it up and I have enjoyed every minute in it!! As I was telling two new Business
prospects this week, I have always done my business part time and this is our
sixth bonus car. What an amazing perk to an already wonderful business!!!
When I saw the Shaklee career plan, immediately I thought, "If I could
learn this business, (and even at that point I felt certain that it was simple
and I could acquire the skills necessary), then we would never have to buy
another car for me." And we could reach for the goal of two
company cars (master coordinator level) making buying John’s vehicle (and
it's payments) not necessary.
Well, just wanted to say thanks for all your help and encouragement as we have
pursued (and partially obtained) these goals. Also, we wanted to let you know
that the two-car dream will be a reality in the future too. Come ride in
our new van anytime you want!!

My Shaklee
"Why"
It is with pleasure that I take the opportunity to share my thoughts about
Shaklee.
I
was introduced to Shaklee in 1981 as a wholesale consumer of
"concentrated" cleaning products. Since the person knew that I was an
RN, he did not share "nutrition" with me, but did supply me with
cassettes on various subjects. He was not aware of the various health challenges
that I had, especially the pain of Osteoarthritis that resulted following a
work-related accident and 5 back surgeries. In order for me to work, I took
about 15 Bufferin a day. I chose them because they were as effective as the
anti-inflammatory drugs the Dr.'s had put me on, and created fewer side effects.
After listening to testimonies on the tapes and the rationale behind
supplementation, I began using the Shaklee basics of that time, which were Vita
Lea, Vita C, Alfalfa, Herb Lax and Protein. I also added Calcium Magnesium to my
program. I could not BELIEVE it!! In less then 3 weeks, I was not taking any
Bufferin and felt energized and a great sense of well-being.
This was too good to keep to myself since I was hearing lots of complaints from
others. My attitude had changed completely... that a "vitamin" is a
"vitamin", and "if the Dr. doesn't know how to help, vitamins
certainly can't".
I
continued to educate myself with meetings, tapes, books, etc. and started
sharing with others how they could experience better health. I have seen B/P
lowered without medication, migraine headaches gradually go away, digestive
disorders relieved, immune systems restored, energy and endurance revived, and
the list goes on.
It is not enough to just speak of physical wellness. Because I developed a
passion for helping others take control of their health & wealth. I stopped
working at the hospital in less than 2 years. It is frightening to think where I
would be today if Shaklee had not entered my life. Even though my husband and I
are in our 60's, we would probably still be working at a job with fixed hours
and fixed income.
Because
of the Shaklee Opportunity, we have enjoyed travel to places that we never would
have dreamed of, are driving our 9th bonus car, have an income never before
thought possible, and enjoying the freedom to choose what we want to do EACH
day.
The greatest blessing of ALL, is to offer ALL of this to others. Although I was
very proud to be in the nursing profession, I am very thankful that I had the
opportunity to be a part of something greater...that of being a "TRUE
health-care professional".

First Time at a Shaklee Convention
I'm sitting by my window on the 10th floor of the Fairmont Hotel on Nob Hill in
San Francisco at the Shaklee New Supervisors Convention as I write this. I
can hear the clang of a trolley as it begins its descent to the city spread out
below. Before me lies this extraordinary city with the beautiful bay just
beyond.
We have had the time of our life seeing the sights, feasting on cuisine from
every corner of the world, experiencing San Francisco at its' finest.
Shaklee has treated us like kings and queens during our stay here. More
than ever before we realize the integrity and fine character of Shaklee's team
of leaders who are preparing a fabulous future for each one of us who decide to
become a part of Shaklee's opportunity.
Shaklee has turned our lives around in more ways than one! Just two years
ago, before we began using Shaklee products, to walk around one block in our
neighborhood together would have been a major effort!
Jon was using a walking cane more and more as multiple sclerosis and side
effects from neurological medications robbed him of strength in his legs and
energy to make it through his days. Each night, his painful leg spasms would
shake our bed and many mornings it was all he could do to walk from the parking
lot into the office building where he worked.
Chemotherapy had shrunk my lymphoma but had also left me with painful
arthritis, very little strength and a floundering immune system.
Nutritional information and encouragement from our new Shaklee friends have
literally turned our lives around. Jon is off all neurological medications and
his walking cane is now kept as a reminder of how far we have come.
Shaklee's calcium magnesium has helped him overcome painful leg spasms.
Soy Protein has helped us both build our immune
systems and give us energy...to not just make it through our days but to
actually be able to walk together and golf together and begin to dream again for
our future.
Shaklee has helped me go through the agonizing process of ridding my body of
stored toxins from all the chemotherapy I had received and my immune system
continues to grow stronger and stronger. For many months, I would never
leave our home without a supply of Soy Protein and other supplements with
me. My energy levels dropped dangerously low if I
didn't have some of the protein every few hours. Just recently, after
three months of faithfully taking Shaklee's Optiflora every day, I have realized
I no longer required the extremely large amounts of supplements that had once been
necessary to keep my immune system going. I am actually beginning to
feel like a "normal" person again!
God has blessed us so much through Shaklee. Our visit to San Francisco brought
us to an even greater realization of just how much. When we stood on the
corner of California St. and Powell St. and looked down to the Bay, realizing we
had just WALKED from Union Square, through China Town and up another four blocks
with forty degree incline to the top of
Nob Hill, after hours of sightseeing, tears still come to my eyes when I
think about it.
Well,
all I can say is, "you have to experience it." It's been 3 years
already, and it's time to shop for my new bonus car; and I'm not even tired of
my Ford AeroStar yet. I'm looking at the minivans, and today I tested an
8-passenger Chevy Astro, with 4-wheel drive, and cup holders all over the place!
The kids and their friends approved! So I think that's the one.
Anyway, the car salesman was so impressed with the little "seeds" I
sowed about this wonderful company called Shaklee, that treats its people so
well.....he asked me "can you get me a job?" I didn't want to
appear too anxious; so I waited till he asked a second time...then I invited him
to evaluate the Own Your Life cassette. Naturally, the answer was
yes, so the process has started. We'll see what happens.
Tonight I was so excited after shopping for my car, that when I went out to
dinner, I prospected the waiter. He's a middle-aged accountant, but he waits on
tables on the weekend to make ends meet. He said he wants to start his own
business in "sales and marketing!" He was skeptical of
networking. But HE agreed to evaluate the Own Your Life tape.
In Rite Aid today, getting a prescription, I struck up a conversation with an
elderly lady buying X-Brand Glucosamine. I talked to her outside of the
store, and she is interested in seeing what Shaklee has to offer.
There are a lot of people out there looking for what Shaklee has to offer. Our
job is to find them and make the offer. It's their right to refuse. But it's
very gratifying knowing you can make a difference in the lives of so many
people.

This Business
Can be Done By Anyone
Hello!
I would be honored for you to share any info/story piece you think would help
others. Many have shared with me, inspiring me to figure out the Shaklee system
in a way that works for me. That's one of the best parts about Shaklee. .
Their system works for any individual, with their individual strengths,
interests, abilities, motivations and dreams.
When you gave me permission to do Shaklee "my" way, to create a way to
explain Shaklee in my own style, I felt a freedom and confidence I had never
felt before. I used to try to memorize how someone else did Shaklee, and
then I'd be worried I'd forget their words. Now my focus is to listen to
the other person and provide the information that makes sense to their
situation. There is so little to memorize (benefits and their explanation
+ how to develop 1000 UV customer base).
Shaklee truly can work for anyone. I think it is the job of the
partner/leader to assist the builder in fitting Shaklee "to him/her,"
rather than fitting the person to Shaklee. There is lots of wiggle space
to the way the core business is conducted. I know my builders will feel
empowered when I help them utilize their talents to build the future of their
dreams.
Again, your persistence and unconditional belief in me has allowed me to finally
grasp/create my way of explaining Shaklee and telling my story. This is
the piece I have been searching for a long time.

Lot of People Growing
I am pleased to present NEW SALES LEADERS in our organization. And I want to thank
each and every one of you for your partnership and friendship. It's been a
pleasure working with you, and I look forward to a lifetime of exciting

1st level - Doris & Dan Gallagher, of Sykesville, Md., New Supervisors.
Doris & Dan are home-schoolers, and are expecting their 7th child in
September. They are "back" to the rank of Supervisor, as they took a
short leave when Baby #6 was born. The Gallaghers have a strong organization of
dedicated consumers who just won't do without their Shaklee products. We're now
looking for others who are interested in earning substantial income working
part-time from their homes.
1st level - Kelley & Dennis Lorenz, of Owings Mills, Md., New Supervisors
Kelley & Dennis are home-schoolers. Once before
"Supervisors," theirs was also a planned "leave," as they
became more involved in missionary work. However, working in Kelley's downline,
trying to get to know who's who in the organization, I discovered several
business builders. But, here's the fun part-----> while Kelley was in
the hospital yesterday morning delivering Baby #3, she was simultaneously being
reinstated as a Shaklee Supervisor. Oh, the beauty of partnership marketing!
The rewards of working hard upfront paid off for the Gallaghers and Lorenzes.
They noticed that without even working, their volume was always "up
there" in the 1,200 to 2,000 UV range. Now, through the duplication
process and the ease of doing business (i.e. member direct ordering), it is
possible for Shaklee business owners to work less and earn more.
New Supervisors enjoy earning approximately $17,000 a year, the flexibility of
working a business around their life, tax benefits, their first expense-paid
trip, better health, and making a positive impact of the lives of others, and so
much more.
2d level Bruce & Sherri Wahlgren of Finksburg, Md., New Supervisors.
1st level to Joanne Sayre. Bruce works at Carroll Community College, and
Sherri is a Spanish teacher at the local high school. Sherri says,
"after doing our Shaklee business all the ways they say you're NOT supposed
to do it, we finally started doing it RIGHT." In January, Bruce told
me, It's TIME. We're going to do it now!" And they did!
They are fired up, working with business builders, and doing all the right
things.
New Supervisors are excited to have earned their first expense-paid convention
in San Francisco, in November, and discovering travel "Shaklee-style."
Former attendees marvel over the "royal treatment" they receive.
Joanne & J.R. Sayre, Finksburg, Md. NEW SENIOR SUPERVISORS,
Most people know Joanne as the gal who became a Supervisor just 7 short weeks
after seeing the Compensation Plan. It's been 2 years, and Joanne is now
focused on qualifying for her 1st bonus car. She is still busy teaching piano
lessons to 50+ students a week, but she keeps on doing what makes Shaklee Sales
Leaders successful: keep offering the products and the opportunity, and be
dedicated to helping those who want all the goodies.

Attitude
Makes The Difference
Just listened to the April tape!! Great stuff! I'm doing exactly what you are
talking about. This is all about attitude, if you don't have the right attitude,
it will hinder you as it did me. Since I started training with the "Pathway
To Success" system, my business is jumping! As you know, I sponsored a
flock of people the last two months, not good enough!! This month, I have
sixteen new members so far, (only called in ten); I have a cushion for May, of
at least six. I don't know how that will play out, as I have five more
appointments to do this month. The point of this message is to tell you that, If
you set your goals at ten per month, as the book says, and if you are willing to
do what it takes to do it, and if you will lead by example, you can't possibly
fail to grow!!
Gary, it took me a little longer then most folks, but I have seen the light and
am shooting for the works. I consider my age to be an advantage, no a handicap.
I want to be a leader!!! Not a follower. I'm at 7500 PV for the month so far.
Just wanted to thank you for sticking by me, and wanted you to know that it did
sink in. Much thanks to Barb Hill and Sandy for the support they have given me.

A
Lot More People on The Move
We now have the first two new Directors under the new
benefit plan which went into effect in October. Bob Belles and Miriam Gruber have made the decision to move up to the next level in Shaklee. Both of
them are very positive of where they are going with Shaklee and have set the
pace for all of us who are either thinking about building a Shaklee
business from our home or have already begun to build.
Let me share a little about
them so you can get to know them.
Bob Belles is first level to me. He is
the kind of person everyone would love to have for a friend. He is always there
for people who have a need and enjoys working with people in his personal life
as well as in his Shaklee business life. Bob was first introduced to Shaklee
when he answered an ad concerning the Shaklee business. He was looking for a way
to increase his income and was open to look at what Shaklee was offering.
At
first, he was not sure if what I showed him could be true for him, but he
was impressed with Shaklee and liked the idea of not having to make up his mind
at the first appointment. I asked him if he was open to learn more about Shaklee
based on what I showed him so far and he said yes.
After learning more about Shaklee, he decided to join
and wrote a check for the membership fee and ask me if I could hold the check
for a few days. Money was tight at that time for his family so he liked the idea
of the low entry fee. From that point forward, he and his wife Mary began to
change brands to Shaklee products as they ran out of their current brands.
Little by little they began to see improved changes in their health and the cost
savings of using Shaklee cleaning products.
During this time they learned more
about the products and more about how to build an income with Shaklee by
listening to audio tapes, attending some Shaklee events and many
discussions by phone. They came to realize that the more people they helped,
in much the same way Shaklee was helping them, the more income they would earn.
They liked the idea and the rest became history.
Today Bob is full time in
Shaklee and the idea of a Shaklee bonus car is looking very good to him these
days. Both Mary & Bob are the type of people anyone would love to associate
with and having a Shaklee business as a common interest is basically icing on
the cake. Congratulations again to both of you and I am looking forward to an
exciting future with you.
Miriam Gruber and her husband Mark are first level to
Karen McKenney. They are also great Shaklee people. They are honest, caring and
filled with enthusiasm. Miriam decided to look at Shaklee because her sister
wanted her opinion about it. After Miriam saw what Shaklee was all about, she
not only told her sister it was a great opportunity but decided to get started
herself.
Miriam was teaching at the time and saw that Shaklee could help her
earn an income without leaving home. This way she could be there for her
children and also earn more income then she did teaching. She was so excited by
the idea; it took her very little time to reach the sales leader position. The
new Director level at a 1,000 UV base is too easy for Miriam and she will not be
there long. She is focused on building her company to the core level and will
not slow down until she does.
Every time I talk with Miriam, she has such a great
attitude. Even when things are not going well, she talks about what is and how
she will turn things around. She has such a great way about her that nothing
will stop her because she believes nothing can.
In October, she proved her
point. Because of her husband's job, they are traveling around the country and
living at different places every couple of months. Miriam has purchased a laptop
computer and with the new email presentation programs I put together, as well as
how simple and easy a Shaklee business is built today, she is able to run
her business from wherever she happens to be living.
She is very happy she
decided to look into Shaklee for herself because it has allowed her to earn an
income and at the same time, live her life as she wants to live it.
Congregations again to both of you and I am also looking forward to a very exciting
future with you as well.
The Grubbers are first level to Karen and Sam McKenney
who are first level to Nancy and Norbert Reich who are first level to myself.
All of them have achieved the Director level and then some. The Reichs and
McKenneys always run much higher then the new base of 1,000. In fact, both have
averaged well over 7,500PV per month so far this year!
The Reichs will be first
to tell you that they have not worked at building their business over the last
three years due to personal problems and yet their income continues to come in
month after month because of what they have built in the past. With the new
changes that went into effect in October this year, I think they are back to
building once again and have some very interesting and exciting people
investigating Shaklee as a business of their own. So, watch what they will do in
the next couple of months!
This business is so much fun and the people we meet and
get to know is a benefit no one could ever put a value on. Yes, the income,
expense paid vacations, bonus cars, tax benefits, freedom of time etc are all
worth the effort and anyone will tell you they are very exciting to earn. But
the positive friendships that get developed in building a Shaklee business are
so much different then when working at a job, that unless one has been
involved in building a Shaklee business, words just can not describe it!

- New Shaklee Director
Kathy is a long time Shaklee consumer and has shared Shaklee products over
the years but had a hard time believing she could one day have a Shaklee
business of her own. She has a natural love for people and believes Shaklee
products are a great benefit for everyone.
When Shaklee announced the new Pay
Plan changes last October of 2000, Kathy decided to take a closer look. At the
end of February this year she decided to get together with me to
put together a plan and in March she began to introduce others to the
wonderful benefits of Shaklee and that is all it took! She is already looking at
Coordinator and has a couple of people interested in joining her.

Just a quick note to inform you that Diana Carson is now a Director. I am extremely proud of
her. As you know she has been a good consumer for about 15 years and
has believed in the whole concept of Shaklee from the beginning. I applaud
her accomplishments even though she says that this is only the beginning. She
will be a wonderful Sales Leader and a asset to the Shaklee Corporation....

Karen McKenney - New Shaklee Coordinator
Karen will be the first to tell you that she is no longer building an
income with Shaklee, she is building people. Karen and her husband Sam are now
both retired but not retired from life.
Their Shaklee income has been well over
the $50,000 mark and is continuing to rise. Karen said that when Sam was getting
close to retiring he said they should think of where to cut back in spending.
Karen didn't like the sound of that and decided to build a Shaklee income
instead.
They have been on many of the Shaklee expense paid trips and have
earned many Shaklee company cars but one thing they like the most is all the
great people who they have met and have enjoyed in their Shaklee business
over the years. I
am really excited for you both and you are a great addition to our team.
Now let's make a run to get that Core built!!!.....
